Pivot Phoenix DH - Frameset only

Rising above all other downhill mountain bikes, the Phoenix DH is the ultimate World Cup downhill weapon. It's an all-new Pivot Cycles design with the heritage of Dave Weagle's six World Championships behind it. The Phoenix DH offers riders 8.15" (207mm) of travel thanks to a dw-link® suspension design featuring position-sensitive anti-squat. Unique to the Phoenix DH is the fact it has a distinct advantage in overall control and pedaling efficiency over other downhill bikes. Square edge bump absorption is incredible, and the suspension remains stable and controlled in the most extreme conditions. The Phoenix DH pedals like a champ, has the control of a pro and descends like an animal.

Team Players
Testament to the immediate success of the Phoenix DH design is the fact that a World Cup team is already piloting the Phoenix DH at World Cup races and other competitions around the world. Team LEX/Pivot racers Kyle Strait from the United States, Mitch Delfs and Will Rischbieth (both from Australia) are on board, pedaling the Phoenix DH to great results while working to further develop this groundbreaking downhill rig. Among a host of great results for the team, one highlight is Kyle Strait finishing on the podium in 4th place aboard his Pivot Cycles Phoenix DH at the USA Cycling MTB National Championships at Solvista Bike Park in Granby, Colorado in July of 2010.

Geometry and Handling
The Phoenix DH features a 64 degree head tube angle, 13.6" bottom bracket height and 17.25" chainstay length. Dropouts are changeable and allow for changes in chainstay length and bottom bracket height.

Adjustable Head Angle
The Phoenix DH headtube is indexed, and head angle is easily adjustable at 0, and +/- 1/2, 1, or 1.375 degree settings via a new adjustable angle headset from Cane Creek.

Lower Center of Gravity
The shock and main linkage are mounted as low as possible in the frame. The shock housing/main pivot/bottom bracket area is designed to allow easy access to all damping adjustments on the Fox RC4 shock. The Phoenix DH's low center of gravity and low bottom bracket give the bike excellent cornering and handling characteristics. Combined with the dw-link(R) design's position-sensitive anti-squat, we can achieve the handling and cornering benefits of the lower bottom bracket without the negatives associated with a low bottom bracket height on other designs.

• Optimized lightweight design. Complete test bikes are sitting at 39lbs. Team bikes should come in at about 37lbs.
