A unique high performance impact protection tape designed to protect thin alloy and carbon bike frame tubes and fork legs from impacts and abrasions.
This is a complete bike kit, and contains the following:
1 x Down Tube (340mm long 50mm wide)
1 x Chain Stay (275mm long 35mm wide)
1 x Top Tube/ Head Tube (80mm tall and 45mm deep)
4 x Cable/ Hose anti-abrasion pads (35mm diameter)
Shelter tape is a multi-layer acrylic elastomeric compound, it has high resilience , dissipating impact energy on two axis, each layer spreading loads vertically and horizontally, the impact energy decreases at each layer crossing! After impact the surface reverts to its original smooth finish quickly ready to work again and has good abrasion and puncture resistance
It is supplied transparent so does not hide graphics, does not suffer from yellowing, is conformable to tube shapes and can be cut with scissors. The operating range is an impressive -30° C / + 130° C.
As used on our own demo bikes and personal bikes too, this really does give you an additional barrier against stones and other objects, and is especially effective on the underside of the downtube.
